ANOTHER LITTLE LIFE UPDATE

ANOTHER LITTLE LIFE UPDATE

I know it's been a while. I made out this weekly schedule so that content is up every week, three times a week. With everything going on in the world, the content has been put on hold. Actually, everything has been put on hold in some ways. Things have changed. In fact, a lot has changed for the better. I took a lot of time to ponder what my purpose in life is and make some plans for myself. I also took the time to understand who I am better.

I've missed writing these posts and hitting publish or schedule on a weekly basis. I look forward to slowly getting back into the routine. As much as I'd love to make this blog about blogging, I decided to share a little of what's been going on.

COVID changed everything. Perspectives have changed. I can only speak for myself but I know other people who can agree with me: things have to change and things are changing as I write this post. The way we live has to be better. No one wants a repeat of what happened. A lot of people freaked out and began to realize how unsanitary they've been. It's an eye-opener. Do better.

Black Lives Matter has become a focal point in the last month and it's not going anywhere. I am a Trinidadian, Puerto Rican woman and I matter. We're still marching to make a difference. That isn't going to go away any time soon. I've seen my favorite bloggers, YouTubers, and influencers educating themselves on the subject and bringing light to their followers. It's a start. Thank you for using your platform for the better.

People have started their businesses. From offering a product or service to starting blogs and YouTube channels, I watched people around the world and close to me take a leap of faith to follow their dreams. I'm cheering for them. There's so much negativity in the world and I've been focusing on the positive.

So what has changed for me? Well...

  1. I signed up for one of those online classes at Harvard. These are credited certificate programs. I've missed attending classes and writing papers. Plus, it will look good on applications and my grad school application when I graduate with my bachelor's degree.
  2. I am job hunting. My previous job has closed down due to COVID and will not be reopening. While I am sad that someone had to go out of business, I am excited to see what is to come. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I have interviews lined up and I'm still applying to jobs and companies I think I will enjoy working for.
  3. My boyfriend and I broke up. That's a big one. In my previous post, we're seen in the mountains together. We had the best time. After a while, we began to realize how incompatible we were. He broke up with me, but that's okay. It was a relief for me and for him. We're still friends and we still talk on the phone. In fact, he says wants me to tell you 'hello'.
  4. Things can't go back to the way they were before. COVID was a complete eye-opener. More and more I'm beginning to realize how short life is. This time off allowed me to truly understand more about myself and what I really want. Now is the time. I have a dream. I've been investing in myself and what I want my future to be. In fact, it's time that we all invest in our futures and dreams. Become an entrepreneur. Be the writer you've always wanted to be. Become that movie star. At this point, there isn't anything that we can do. So do it.
Life is but a dream at the moment and life is moving forward. I'm adjusting to the new norm just like everyone else. I'm excited about coffee shops, libraries, and museums reopening. They are what make me happy. Soon I'll be free to roam even if it's with caution. For now, I'm doing what's best for me. I am excited for a new beginning that's been given to all of us and the goals I've set out to achieve. Through it all, I'm trying to remain positive. I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
