I studied literature at university. My focus was Medieval and Renassaince literature. The truth is I'm obsessed with Dante. Besides my studies, I'm a massive fan of YA Fantasy, Contemporary, and Romance novels. Here you'll find my book reviews and recommendations.

A STAYCATION AFTER QUARANTINE

A STAYCATION AFTER QUARANTINE

Naturally after a global pandemic, one may be skeptical and maybe feel a little guilty about staying somewhere that isn't home. The world is still in a crisis. Vacations aren't that important compared to everything that's happening in the world. We've been given space to slowly get back to a new, better normal. During the quarantine stage of this pandemic, my mental and emotional health improved, declined, and improved again. Since it's okay for us to leave our homes now and even venture off a little, I thought it would be a good idea to have a staycation.

The world is slowly opening back up and that's exciting. After months of self-quarantining, it felt good to do something I missed doing: going on a vacation. Every year on my birthday, I try to do something fun and travel. Unfortunately, 2020 had other plans. Since my birthday passed and it's still not the best idea to travel abroad, I decided a little time away from my apartment would be just as good.

Last weekend was a lot of fun. I tried a new Japanese restaurant which is worth every penny. I found a door that I am absolutely obsessed with. I even introduced a friend to frozen yogurt and Indian food. Let's just say my friend is a very happy camper. I felt so happy and free for the first time in a while during this staycation. Maybe I'll do this again soon. For now, I'm back to work and waiting for the MET museum to reopen.
